The ubiquitinylation and subsequent degradation of p53 is controlled by Mdm2, an oncogenic E3 ligase, or upon infection by virally encoded E3 ligases such as human papilloma virus E6 protein. p53 undergoes a number of post-translational modifications including conjugation with ubiquitin (Ub) and ubiquitin-like proteins (Ubl), such as SUMO and NEDD8, primarily at lysine residues located within its C-terminal domain. BIOMOL announces the release of a recombinant protein comprising the RING domain from Hdm2, the human homolog of Mdm2, which retains the E3 activity of the intact molecule, together with four antibodies specifically characterized for the detection of modified forms of p53.

[Clone EX-1]. Recognizes a C-terminal epitope of p53. Will not detect C-terminally ubiquitinylated or SUMOylated p53 and is thus useful for discriminating modified from unmodified forms.
[Clone EX-2]. Recognizes an N-terminal epitope of p53, from a region devoid of lysines, making EX-2 ideally suited for detecting C-terminally Ub/Ubl-modified p53.
[Clones EX-3 and EX-4]. Both recognize an N-terminal epitope of p53 and are thus suitable for detecting C-terminally directed Ub/Ubl-modifications of p53.
